    A Finger Was Cut Off
Carrie Andrist Suffered a Painful Accident

Her Sister Was Chopping with a Cleaver When the Accident Occurred.

Little Carrie Andrist, the three year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Andrist of the city hotel, had the misfortune to have one of her fingers cut off last evening about 6 o'clock.

Her sister who is about 8 years old, was cutting meat on a block with a small cleaver when the child reached upon the block to get a piece of the meat. As she did so the cleaver caught her finger, the index finger of the left hand, as it came down on the block and severed it above the second joint. It was severed from her hand save a strip of skin. The physicians placed it back on and sewed it in place, but they have doubts about the parts uniting again.
