Obituaries | Adrian M. Lindy Obituary Vincennes Sun, Sunday, Feb 11, 2007 Adrian M. "Buzz" Lindy, 79, 1164 Wabash Ave., Vincennes, died Feb. 9, 2007 at his residence. Born July 5, 1927 in Gibson County, he was the son of Wright and Dora (Hays) Lindy. Adrian had worked at Princeton Gardens, in Princeton. Following that, he was a routeman for Continental Baking Co., during which time he moved to Vincennes. Before retiring he worked 24 years at Vincennes Steel. Adrian was a 50-year member of Vincennes Masonic Lodge #1 F&AM, a member of the Scottish Rite, a Past Commander of the Knights Templar Commandry #20, Past Patron of the Order of Easter Star #291, Past Commander of Odd Fellows Lodge #508, and member of the Rebekahs, in Petersburg. He had served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1947. A collector of belt buckles and Volkswagen bugs, he enjoyed reading and woodworking. He had played Santa Claus and enjoyed being around people, and telling stories. Lorene and he loved to travel. Adrian was a proud father and grandfather. His wife, Lorene Maxwell, whom he married on Sept. 4, 1949, died Dec. 5, 1994. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Wright and Dora (Hays) Lindy; and two brothers. Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Wittrock, of Vincennes, Venita Oursler and her husband, Jerry, of Princeton and Amelia Green and her husband Chris, of Mooresville; one sister, Irma Lindy, of Princeton; and a granddaughter, Rachael Marie Green, of Mooresville. An Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted at 7:15 p.m. Monday at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St., a Masonic memorial service will follow. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007 at at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home. |
