- H. Vaughn Young, 74, of Evansville, died Sunday, January 23, 2005, at Deaconess Hospital.
He was a member of Bethany Christian Church, where he served as deacon, trustee, and treasurer.
Vaughn was the superintendent of maintenance and construction and later retired as manager of labor relations for SIGECO.
Vaughn was also a member of Lessing Lodge No. 464. He was a Hadi Shriner and served as the Shriner's recorder, and was a member of the Royal Order of Jesters, the 34th Select Group, and the Color Guard. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Vaughn is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marietta Young of Evansville; daughter, Lucy Young Clem and husband, Craig of Evansville; sister, Dorothy Coleman of Indianapolis, Ind.; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2005, at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Dr. Dan Lovell, with burial at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call Wednesday, January 26, 2005, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time at Alexander North Chapel. A Masonic memorial service will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m.
