- Nargus J. Kraus -- Ridgefield
An avid hunter who enjoyed telling stories of his adventures, Nargus Jasper Kraus died Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998, in Ridgefield. He was 91.
Mr. Kraus was born Oct. 4, 1906, in Silex, Ark., and lived in Ridgefield since 1939.
He worked in track maintenance for Burlington Northern Railroad.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Donald Krause, in 1975.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Marie, at home; two sons, Ralph and Richard, both of Ridgefield; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ridgefield Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be at Ridgefield Cemetery. The casket will be open from 2 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Layne's Funeral Home in Battle Ground.
Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
