- Dorothy M. Lindy, 82, of Evansville, Indiana, died at 10:17 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2002, at Angel River Health and Rehabilitation.
Dorothy formerly worked for Visiting Nurses Association. She loved to do crafts and art.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Emerson Lindy, in 1987.

Surviving are her sons, Emerson Robert Lindy and Ted Lindy, both of Evansville, Ind.; daughters, Carol Gates, Ann Hettenbach, Joyce Lindy and Linda Rickard, all of Evansville, Ind., and Sharon Studer of Boonville, Ind.; grandchildren, Denny Gates, Gail Behme, Lisa Smith, Jamie Hettenbach, Michael Lindy, Kevin Lindy, Angie Worstell, April Waterman and Zac Rickard; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Steinmetz of Kuttawa, Ky.; sister, Virginia Gates of Evansville, Ind.; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday, May 6, 2002, at 1 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel, Dr. Keith Adkins officiating, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum in Evansville.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 5, 2002, from noon to 6 p.m. and Monday, May 6, from 11 a.m. until service time at Alexander West Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
