LAST RITES HELD FOR MRS. T. B. DOWNEY
The funeral of Mrs. T.B. Downey was held Saturday, March 26, 1949, at nine o'clock, at St. Mary's Church, Glasco, Kansas. Father Bevak, assisted by Father Poell, of Jamestown, Kansas, officiated at the requiem mass.
Mrs. Downey passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.A. Herbin, Jamestown, at the age of eighty years. Her life, since early childhood, had been spent in the Glasco community, until the death of her husband in 1940. Mrs. Downey's maiden name was Nora O'Connor.
Mrs. Downey is survived by two sons, Francis of Simpson, Kansas and George, of Point Richmond, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. A.A. Herbin of Jamestown and Mrs. J. E. Hann, of Neosho, Mo.; and four grandchildren. Two children have preceded her in death. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. George Stratton, Glasco, Mrs. E.E. Long, Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. Thomas Geyer, Seattle, Wash., and a host of friends.
Casket bearers were William Robert Murray, George Chitty, Lawrence Blochlinger, John Downey, Joseph Downey, and LeRoy Stratton, all nephews. Flower bearers were Mrs. Nellie Murray and Mrs. Lawrence Blochlinger. Interment was in St. Mary's cemetery.
