Frederick Lindy III Obituary UNION, Ind., May 21—(Special to The Democrat)—Frederick Lindy, one of the best known and retired farmers of this place, passed away at 2:15 o'clock Monday morning at his home here, following an illness of five weeks. Mr. Lindy had been afflicted with cancer of the stomach for several years, and it was the immediate cause of his death. Widely known throughout the county he was a man of ability, turning his attention to agriculture and stock raising until his failing health incapacitate him from work. Frederick Lindy was born November 19, 1843 at Pike County, and was in his 74th year at death. He is survived by his third wife, and one son, Fred Lindy, of Union. He is also survived by six children by his first wife, who are Frank, of Washington, Ind.; James, of Union; Henry, Neal, Charles, and Miss Rose LIndy of High Grove, Cal. One sister, Mrs. C. Decker, and a brother, A.J. Lindy, both of Union, survives. He was a member of Company F 91st Ind. Regiment of the civil war. He was a member of the Cumberland Bethlehem church. The funeral will be held at the residence at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, and the remains will be interred in the Odd Fellows cemetery. |

Frederick Lindy III Obituary #2 Frederick Lindy died early Monday morning at his home in Union after an illness of several weeks. He was a sufferer of cancer of the stomach. He was a native of Pike county, born November 19, 1843 and would have been 74 years old November next. He was three times married. Surviving is he widow and seven children. He was a member of Co. F, 91st Indiana during the civil war. He was a good farmer and splendid citizen widely known over the northren part of the county. The funeral service was held Wednesday at the residence, interment being made in the Odd Fellows cemetery at Union. |

Frederick Lindy III Obituary #3 Frederick Lindy, aged 74 years, a veteran of the civil war, a member of Company F., 91st Indiana Regiment, and a resident of Union, this county, died Monday Morning. He was one of the best known men in the county. He was married twice, and is survived by his last wife, who was formerly Miss Nannie Phillips, and one child, and a number of children by the first marriage. The funeral was held Wednesday morning from the Bethlehem church, Rev. DeForest officiating and interment was made in the Odd Fellows cemetery at Union. |
