Along with her late husband A.G. "Pete" Shafer, she ran a drive-in restaurant and gas station in Petersburg.
She worked at Bealls in Punta Gorda before retiring in 1970.
Survivors include her daughter, Jill Overbey of Port Charlotte; a sister-in-law, Mariam Bullard of Carmi, Ill.; three grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; and six nieces.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Paul Schelm Funeral Home, 3044 Caring Way, Port Charlotte.
