    • OAKLAND CITY, Ind. - Wanda Lea Gladish, 85, of Oakland City, passed away Monday, March 31, 2008, at Amber Manor Nursing Home in Petersburg, Ind.

      She was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Oakland City. She graduated from Oakland City High School in 1963. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Home Economics Club in Oakland City. She was a past member of the Oakland City Golf Club. She was a quilter and enjoyed doing things for her children and grandchildren.

      Wanda was born on October 26, 1922, in Pike County to John and Auda (Hedges) Clark; both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Gladish, in 2005; infant daughter, Sharon Jeanne; three brothers, Billy, Richard and Daniel Gordon Clark; and a sister, Bonnie Corn.

      She is survived by her children and their spouses, Cecile and John Caldemeyer of Arthur, Camille and Jerry Aydt of Newburgh and Gary and Janice Gladish of Lake Winnebago, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Carolyn (Eric) Tinsley, Karen (Joe) Street, Darlene (Brian) Stevens, Jill (Mark) Carlton, Julie (Jason) Conner, Laura (Charles) Hyatt, Rachel Aydt, Christopher Gladish and Lauren, Geoffrey (Robin) Gladish and Daniel Gladish; 11 great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Kendal and Erin Tinsley, Rowland and Tura Street, Sara Woolsey, Blake Stephens, Jarrod Carlton, Whitney and Sydney Hyatt and Alison Conner; and three sisters, Wilma Brewster of Petersburg, Helen Duncan of Charlotte, Tenn., and Rachael Heuring of Winslow.

      Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at 1 p.m. CDT at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, officiated by Dr. Douglas Low. Burial will be at the Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City. Friends may visit from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to service time on Saturday at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.

      Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Condolences may be made online at www.corncolvinfuneralhome.com.
