- Susie Agnes James, 85, Stevensville, died Monday, December 18, 1995 at North Valley Health Care Center in Stevensville. She was born March 5, 1910 at Squires, Missouri to Henry and Emma Wilson Burton. She moved to Montana at the age of seven, receiving her education at Lone Rock and graduating from Stevensville High School. She received the honor of valedictorian of her class. She married Edgar James on June 22, 1929 in Missoula. The couple resided in the Three Mile area for many years. She was a member of the Three Mill Community Club, Farmers Union and Our Savior Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar, on Sept 23, 1973 and one brother. Survivors include one son and his wife, Lloyd "Bud" and Leona James of Stevensville; two daughters and their husbands, Bernadean and William Maki and Jean and James Jensen, both of Stevensville; one brother, Roy Burton of Polson; seven grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Friday, December 22, 1995, at 2 pm at Whitesitt Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Delancy officiating.
