- Mr. William R. Dragush, 88, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Saint Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, MO. Cremation. The Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 11, at Holy Angels Catholic Church at 15438 Leavenworth Road, Basehor, KS. Burial in Holy Angels Cemetery immediately following. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Strawberry Hill Museum in Kansas City, Kansas. Bill "Sweet William" was born October 28, 1918 in Kansas City, Kansas to Steve & Victoria Dragush. He was employed at Simmons Mattress Company for 11 years and retired in 1980, after 28 years of service with L G Barcus Construction Company. He was an avid golfer, bowler and fisherman. He spent the last year making friends and enjoyed playing poker with residents of Shawnee Gardens Nursing home and several students from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. He was a very kind man who enjoyed people and would help anyone at anytime. He was a member of Holy Angels Church in Basehor for the past 9 years. He was preceded in death by his wife: Charlotte Marie (Marcinko) Dragush, five brothers and one sister. He is survived by his loving, faithful and loyal daughter, Carol Osborne of Shawnee, KS; devoted niece and nephew: Angeline and Jim Jansen, loving grandniece, Marilyn Jansen; two sisters: Margaret Pavicich of Edwardsville, KS and Annie Barber of Kansas City, KS as well as many other nieces and nephews.
