      Deceased Name: Noral Young Sr.

      Noral A. Young Sr., 100, of Newburgh, formerly of Evansville and Hamlin, Ky., died at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Cypress Grove Nursing Home in Newburgh.

      He worked for Prudential Insurance Co. for 33 years, retiring in 1952.

      He was also a tree farmer in Hamlin, where he won Kentucky state awards.
      He was a Kentucky Colonel.

      In 1985, he was presented the God and Service Award by Boy Scout Troop 359 at Union United Church of Christ in Evansville and by a troop in Murray, Ky
      .
      He was an active member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Murray, where he taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.

      Surviving are two daughters, Jeanne O. Rea of Evansville and Anita A. Scholl of Newburgh; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

      His wife, Bertha D., died in 1995.

      Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Kriekhaus-Sansom Funeral Home, Thomas D. Scholl officiating, with services and entombment in Murray Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

      Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
