- Marie A. Kraus -- Ridgefield
Marie Alice Kraus, who liked to cook clam chowder and Texas hash, died in Woodland on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000. She was 86.
A homemaker who had worked in the strawberry fields and at the Jantzen knitting mill, lived in Clark County 51 years. Mrs. Kraus was born Oct. 6, 1913, in Rich Hill, Mo. Her maiden name was Goode.
Her husband, Nargus, died in 1998.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph and Richard, both of Ridgefield; one sister, Jessie Borror of Arkansas City, Kan.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kraus enjoyed quilting, ceramics and flower and vegetable gardening.
A funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Ridgefield Church of the Nazarene, followed by burial in Ridgefield Cemetery. The casket will be open from 2 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Layne's Funeral Home in Battle Ground.
