- Evelyn L. Newlan-Bunner, age 73, of Eagle Rock, MO, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2003, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 23, at the AldenHarrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS, with the burial to follow at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kansas City, KS. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Evelyn was born on April 18, 1929, in Kincaid, KS. She was a member of the Golden Baptist Church in Golden, MO, and was an active member in the Eagle Rock/Golden/Mano Lion's Club. She was an avid bowler. Following her retirement from A&P Food Chain, she and her husband moved to Eagle Rock, MO, in the Table Rock Lake area. She was married to her husband, Robert L. Bunner, in April of 1949, and he preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Cindy Lea Edwards, in 1996. Survivors include one son, Robert D. Bunner of Eagle Rock, MO, three daughters, Gayle Johnson and her husband Sam of Walden, CO, Linda Duncan and her husband Bill of Kansas City, KS, and Ginger Rush and her husband Jim of Linwood, KS, two brothers, Chuck Newlan of Neosho, MO, and Harold Fouts of Osawatomie, KS, two sisters, Vera Weaver of Osawatomie, KS, and Helen Koch of Overland Park, KS, 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
