Walter R. Andrist Obituary

Walter R. Andrist Dies.

Blood Transfusion Fails to Save Veteran Proofreader.

Walter R. Andrist, 66 years old, an employee of the Star thirty-five years, died today at his home, 3826 Brooklyn avenue. Death was caused by a complication of nervous diseases. He had been ill twenty-two weeks.

Early this year Mr. Andrist was forced to leave work because of his illness, and recently a transfusion of blood was believed necessary to save his life. Another employee of The Star gave a pint and a half of blood. Mr. Andrist rallied after the transfusion, but suffered a relapse and died.

He had been a proofreader for The Star twenty-five years, formerly being a printer. Before working here he was editor of a newspaper at California, Mo.

Mr. Andrist leaves his widow, Mrs. Georgia Andrist, of the home; two sons, W. L. Andrist, 2714 Harrison street, and Archibald Andrist, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Fasano, Chula Vista, Cal., and Mrs. Susie Barbour, California, Mo., and a brother, A. E. Andrist, 206 North Valley, Kansas City, Kas.

Funeral Services will be at 4 o'clock tomorrow at Mrs. C.L Forster's chapel, 918 Brooklyn avenue. Burial will be in the printers' lot in Forest Hill cemetery.
