Mad Dog Bites Gate City Tot
Little Evelyn Young of 741 Berkeley drive, San Bernardino, is under observation by Dr. W.W. Fenton, city health officer, after being bitten by a mad dog in El Centro while she was visiting there June 8.
The dog was killed and was found to be in an advanced stage of rabies, according to a report received yesterday from the health department of Imperial County.
Evelyn, who is 11 years old, has undergone special treatment for the disease. Symptoms of hydrophobia rarely are evident in a human less than 14 days after he has been bitten by a mad dog, and sometimes several months are required.
