    • Johann Philip Klinger (1723-1811) donated a portion of his land for the Klinger church and cemetery. He came to America in the 1751 with his brother Johann Peter Klinger. Their younger brother Alexander had come over two years earlier.

The town named in honor of his brother Alexander KLINGER. He arrived in America aboard the ship ''NEPTUNE'' at the port of Philadelphia on 24 Sep 1751. He was a Revolutionary War Veteran, having served with the Berks County Militia, 2nd Company, 4th Battalion, PA Militia.
