Gender Female Died 2 Jan 1978 Springfield, Greene, Missouri, USA - Dora Ann Mendel, 89, of Venita, Okla., will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Chapel in Ava with the Revs. Gilbert Hambleton and Eldon Morris officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Mendel died at 2:10 p.m. Monday at Foster Nursing Home in Venita, (crossed out and Springfield, Mo written in) following a long illness.
She was born June 29, 1888, at Rome, the daughter of John and Margaret Eddings Jennings. She married Roland J. Mendel at Rome June 3, 1906. Mr. Mendel preceded her in death April 17, 1952.
Surviving are two sons, Virgil O. Mendel of Ava, and Leslie O. Mendel of Yucipa, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Banks Smith of Yakima, Wash., and Mrs. Grace Ellison, Venita, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Turner, Ava, and Mrs. Rachel Simpson, Thornfield, 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren."
