Elmer M Robling passed away suddenly at his home in Madison Township about 12:45 pm May 2 from a heart attack.
Elmer was the son of the late Franklin P Robling and Texas Rumble Robling."
"He was born September 12, 1887, having reached the age of 80 years, seven months and 20 days at the time of his death.
Elmer M Robling and Margie Miley were married September 3, 1912. To this union were born three sons and one daughter, three of whom survive. They are Dale of Vincennes and Paul of Bradenton, Florida and daughter Mrs Earl (Fern) Horrell of Petersburg. A son, Donald, died several years ago when a small child. Also surviving are, wife Margie; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs Thursa Brittingham of Evansville, Mrs Simon (Ora) Loveless, Route Petersburg and Mrs Edgar (Dexter) Shoaf of Petersburg.
Mr Robling served one term as trustee of Madison township. Most of his life was spent on the farm in Madison township, except for a few years in Oatville, where he had an interest in a grocery store.
Funeral services were conducted at the Harris Funeral Home Sunday, May 5, at 2pm with the Rev. John Hand officiating. Burial was in Walnut Hills cemetery.
Elmer had many friends as was shown by the great number who called at the funeral home. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors.
