- Leonard R. Blaize, 64, of Dugger and formerly of Petersburg, passed away at 4:20 p.m., Friday, Nov. 23, 2001 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
Born Oct. 25, 1937 in Petersburg, he was the son of Fred A. and Ida (Stewart) Blaize.
He was a Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the Lyons American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Mejean Henderson Blaize of Dugger; two sons, Jeff Blaize of Whiteman Air Force Base and Jason Blaize of Oatville; one daughter, Janet Johnston of Mackey; one step-son, Paul Henderson of Dugger; two step-daughters, Vickey Freeman and Lynnette Henderson of Dugger; five brothers, Hugh Blaize, Bob Blaize and Jim Blaize of Petersburg, Frank Blaize of Colorado Springs, Colo., and John Blaize of Florida; two sisters, Naoma Parker of Petersburg and Mary Schatz of Decker; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Corky Blaize.
Funeral services will be at Newkirk Funeral Home in Dugger at 10 a.m. on Tuesday with the Rev. Charles Mejean officiating. Burial will follow at White River Chapel Cemetery at Petersburg, with graveside memorial rites by the Oakland City American Legion.
