I, John Jones of the County of Gibson and State of Indiana, being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, to wit:
I first recommend my spirit to God who gave it and my body to be decently interred and the expenses thereof to be discharged by my executors.
I will and bequeath to my wife Polly her living off of the farm whereon I now live, to have, to be and remain in full possession of s'd farm with all the improvements thereof during her lifetime together with all the farming tools now on the place or so many of them as may be needed to carry on the farm. I also direct that my waggon & gears and horses be kept on and for the use of said farm and also what few cattle I now have to be under the direction and management of my s'd wife. I also give

and bequeath unto my s'd wife her saddle, wheel, beds and bedding, the house clock and all the household and kitchen furniture now in or tha may be in my possession at my death during her lifetime.
I give and bequeath unto my sons John M Jones and William Jones the plantation whereon I now live to be by them or one of them as they may agree kept up and in repair during the natural life of my s'd wife and then to be equally divided between them or otherwise disposed of as they may see proper.
I will and bequeath unto my son Andrew Jones eight acres of land the same being one-half of the south west Quarter of section six in Township one south of Range nine west in the district of lands subject to sale at Vincennes, Indiana, with all the appudtenances thereunto belonging.
I will and bequest unto my daughter Polly Hartwell one dollar to be paid by my executor out of any money that may come into his hands from my estate.
I give and bequeath unto my daughter Jean Cunningham one hundred dollars to be paid to her or her assigns in the course of three or four years from and after my death by my sons John M Jones & William Jones in equal shares out of their own individual property as a compnesation for her share of the land bequeathed to them.
I will and bequeath unto my son Patrick Wilson Jones by my first wife one dollar to be paid out of any moneys tht may come into my executor's hands from my estate.
I will and bequeath unto my daughter Rebecca McCord & my daughter Hannah Sayr (Sasse) both by my first wife one dollar each to be paid by my executors.
I also allow my daughter Jean Cunningham, at my wife's death all the household & kitchen furniture.

I also allow and direct that my two sons John M Jones and William Jones at my wife's death have my waggon, horses and all my farming tools.
I further direct that my executors dispose of the residue of my estate (personal) nor herein enumerated to the best advantage they can and apply it to the use of the family.
I request that my sons and John M Jones and William Jones execute this my last will and testament and I hereby appoint and nominate them for that purpose.
In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this 14th day of August 1842 in the presence of Joathan Gullick and John A gullick as witnesses.

Before me the undersigned clerk of the Probate Court of Gibson County, personally came Jonathan Gullick and John A Gullick the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing last will and testament of John Jones late of said County dec'd and made oath that the said John Jones the Testator signed, sealed and published the foregoing as his last will and testament in their presence and that they witnessed the same at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other and at the time said will was signed that they believed the said John Jones was of sound and disposing mind and memory.
