- Dominick M. Baleno, 92, of Utica died Saturday at home.
Born in Ausonia, Italy, Mr. Baleno's family moved to the Utica area when he was a baby and he attended schools there.
Mr. Baleno apprenticed as a barber and tailor and later became a photographer. In 1933, he established Baleno Portrait Studio in Utica, specializing in communion, confirmation, wedding and family portraits. He retired at age 87.
His wife, Anna, died in 1988. Mr. Baleno was a communicant of St. Agnes Church, where he was an usher.
Surviving are two daughters, Angela R. Taurisano of New Hartford, and Theresa Konrad of Fayetteville; a son, Anthony P. of Syracuse; two sisters, Adeline Cosco and Edith Mandia, both of Utica; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday at Eannace Funeral Home and 1 p.m. in St. Agnes Church. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. today and 11:15 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home, 932 South St., Utica.
