- Elizabeth "Betty" M. Wall, 76, died Jan. 15, 2006, at Thornton Hospital.
Born Nov. 18, 1929, in Baltimore, Md., she was a resident of Carlsbad for 43 years. She graduated high school, St. Bernadine's in San Bernardino, Calif. Her hobbies were Oriental art and Swarovski Crystal. She collected all things Maxine. She was a devoted Marine Corps bride and loving mother. She was always willing to help anyone in need. Maxine and Mom could have been sisters.
Mrs. Wall was preceded in death by her father, Frank W. Smith; and mother Julia Smith. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Caleb N. Wall of Carlsbad; son Jeffrey of Oceanside; daughters and son-in-law Cynthia Wilson and Richard Sagers of San Diego and Kimberly Gustafson of Seattle; brother and sister-in-law Bill and Dorothy Smith of Parker, Ariz.; brother David Smith of Chino, Calif.; grandchildren Erin, Kiel, Marilyn, and Shannon; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be private.
