Jacob Pie (Pea/Pee) and family lived in Lancaster, Lancaster CO, PA, from 1760-1780 and attended the First Reformed Church of Lancaster. Jacob received land donations in Vincennes, Knox Co, IN, for his military service during the Revolution.
      -------------------
Will of Jacob Pea, the Elder:

In the name of God; Amen.

I, Jacob Pea of Knox County, in the territory northwest of the Ohio, Yeoman, being very sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God; calling unto mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament; that is to say, principally and first of all. I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it, and my body I recommend to the earth, to be buried in decent Christian burial, at the discretion of my executors, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again, by the mighty power of God - and as touching such wordly estates wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life, I give, demise, and dispose of the same in the following manner and form -
First, I give and bequeath to Rachel, my dearly beloved wife, her Bed and bedding, one Cow, and further to be maintained by my son John during life.
Secondly, I give and bequeath to my Son Jacob the sum of five pounds. Virginia currency.
Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my Sons Henry and Daniel five pounds each. Like currency.
Fourthly, I give and bequeath to my Daughters Elizabeth, Mary, Margaret and Catherine, one Cow, each.
Fifthly, I give and bequeath unto my Son Abraham one half of the Lands.
Lastly, I give and bequeath unto my Son John, whom I likewise constitute make and ordain the sole Executor of this my last will and testament, the other half of the lands which the buildings stand upon, together with the buildings, and all the other estate, freely to be possessed and enjoyed by him. Likewise it is my request that John shall have four years to pay the elder brothers their legacies and as touching those buildings of Peter Frederick's and Daniel Pea's, if they should leave the possession of the land, before ten years from their settlement, and leave their buildings then they shall be paid for their buildings, what two men shall judge reasonable, but should they take their buildings off, then they are to have nothing allowed them.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seals this twenty seventh day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety five.
Signed, Sealed, published, pronounced and declared, by the said Jacob Pea, as his last Will and Testament, in the presence of us Luke Decker, Philip Catt, Reuben Teop.
