Along with her father she became very active in the Salvation Army. She met Clement Shute Trump, they married and lived in Connellsville, PA until after the birth of the 8th child. In 1929 in the midst of the depression they moved to Latrobe, PA where Mr. Trump worked as a molder. He was to follow this occupation until his death. They moved from Latrobe, PA to Baggley PA where they spent several years until they were accepted to be part of the Westmoreland Homestead Project, which was promoted by Eleanor Roosevelt. The name of the town was adopted as Norvelt to honor Mrs. Roosevelt. Nor for Eleanor and Velt for Roosevelt. The men of the family helped to build the house and received credits towards purchasing the house for their work. Each homestead had 2 acres, a chicken coop, grape arbor, house with 1,2, or 3 bedrooms and a garage. The Trump homestead had an orchard, a huge garden and a creek meandering through the property. Situated near the Community Center, the family enjoyed participating in all the affairs of the community. The family lived there until the time of Clement's death. After his death, Maggie sold the house and moved around among the children until she resided at the Westmoreland Manor in Greensburg, PA where she died.
